Balkan Super League can confirm that Locomotive Sofia will play in the semifinals against the Red Star instead of Radnički Novi Beograd. The match between Red Star vs Locomotive will be played on Sunday, November 7, in Belgrade.
This decision was made because the objection of Locomotive from October 21 to the registration of the match against Radnički New Belgrade was accepted. Originally the match Locomotive vs Radnički Novi Beograd was registered with the result 0-0. This result enabled Radnicki to play the quarter-final match against Tirana as the second-placed team in the league.
According to the schedule, the match in Sofia was planned to be played on July 3/4 this year, but since then it has been moved three times at the request of Radnicki. In the end, playing this match became impossible because Serbia reached the Covid-19 EU Red List, so its citizens were banned from entering Bulgaria. Therefore, the match was registered with the result 0-0 on October 15, 2021 and scheduled the match between Radnički and Tirana. On October 29, the director of the Balkan Super League accepted Locomotive’s objection and registered the match against New Belgrade with an official result of 18-0 in favor of the club from Sofia. Based on that decision, Locomotive will replace Radnički in the semifinal against Red Star.
